Food plays a special role in this film and is about tradition and innovation, with both Italian and Russian influences. The culinary director was the Milanese star chef Carlo Cracco, who incorporated one of his signature dishes: the crispy Russian salad.

The film Io sono l’amore (I am love) takes you to the sultry Milan, to the beautiful house of an aristocratic family. Mother Emma (Tilda Swinton) can no longer keep up appearances when she meets the beautiful and talented chef Antonio. A beautiful, quiet and stylish drama by director Luca Guadagnino (A bigger splash, Call me by your name) with of course delicious Italian food and special Russian food. The film is Italian spoken and Dutch subtitled.

Great timing

What you see, is what you eat. At exactly the same time, you eat what is also eaten in the film. The culinary script of Cinema Culinair is leading for the chef and the service. Good film + good food + great timing. The punch line is in the latter. An example. If fish soup is tasted at minute 12 in the film, you do the same. A minute earlier or later is the difference between a good and a fan-tas-tic experience. It is about not only seeing and hearing the film, but also tasting and feeling it.

Welcome and order your drinks

Arrive on time and soak up the atmosphere. Not a cinema, not a restaurant, but an urban or classic ballroom with high ceilings, film screens, and long tables. First: buy a bottle of wine to enjoy with the film. Or something else delicious.

Order your own drink at the bar and enjoy!

At the table, you’ll be told how it works. Seven carefully prepared dishes are served, perfectly timed with the film. There is a break halfway the movie. As soon as the movie starts, the first dishes appear in front of you, quickly and efficiently. Then it’s time to countdown…. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and taste. Together all at once.

Dining with the actors from the film

You eat exactly the same food as the actors in the movie. Down to the second. This allows you to experience the movie with all your senses. It doesn’t get any more immersive than this. See, hear, smell, taste, and feel. It’s as if you were sitting at the table with the actors.
