This tug-of-war between Indian and French cuisine will make you hungry. The film is full of the most delicious dishes, sauces and spices. It is really a film that you have to taste, so that you can choose your favorite at the end: French or Indian cuisine.
The Hundred Foot Journey (Lasse Hallström, 2014) is a feel-good film that takes you to the French village of Saint-Antonin. An Indian family wants to start a restaurant there, 30 meters (100 ft) from a prestigious French star restaurant. Let’s hope it goes well. Culinary fairytale with beautiful images, catchy soundtrack (Bollywood) and the most beautiful dishes from the French and Indian kitchen. And… with Helen Mirren, so not to be missed.
What you see, is what you eat. Exactly at the same time you eat whatever is eaten in the movie. Good movie + good food + great timing. The punch line is in the latter. An example. When Madame Malory (Helen Mirren) eats an omelette at minute 67 in the film, we want our guests to taste exactly the same thing at the same time.
