With Le pot-au-feu (2023, Trần Anh Hùn, the film is also known by its title The taste of things), it is simply impossible not to feel like eating. Every scene exudes the love and craftsmanship for French classic cuisine, and the film is romance and cooking course in one. We are in Dodin's imposing mansion where he and his cook Eugénie (Juliette Binoche) prepare the most delicious dishes for friends. In the traditional kitchen without electricity and gas, turbot, vol-au-vent, pigeons and veal backs are silently prepared, all filmed like living paintings that make you long for a sweltering French summer in the country.

How does it work?

Welcome and order your drinks
Arrive on time and soak up the atmosphere. Not a cinema, not a restaurant, but an urban or classic ballroom with high ceilings, film screens, and long tables. First: buy a bottle of wine to enjoy with the film. Or something else delicious.

Evening schedule
At the table, you’ll be introduced to how everything works. Seven carefully prepared dishes are served, perfectly timed to the movie. There’s a break halfway through the film. Once the movie begins, the first dishes are quickly and efficiently placed in front of you. Then it’s time to countdown…. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… Time to taste, all together at once.

Dining with the actors from the film
You eat exactly what the actors in the film are eating, timed to the second. This way, you experience the film with all your senses: see, hear, smell, taste, and feel.
It’s like sitting at the table with the actors. It doesn’t get more immersive than this.
