The history of Dijnselburg Estate

Dijsselburg Estate in Zeist, Utrecht province, dates back to the 14th century and was originally a fortified farm. The estate was expanded in the 17th century and developed into a stately country residence for noble families. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, the estate frequently changed owners and functions, with parts being sold off or sometimes destroyed. Today, Dijsselburg is a protected cultural heritage site, known for its natural surroundings of forests and parks. The estate remains an important historical landmark in the Utrecht region.
